Be assured: your teacher wants your little one to get good naps too! Share with your child’s teacher about strategies that help your baby or toddler to nap well at home (your nap time routine, wake windows, environment, etc.). (For babies 5 months and younger, we may need to offer both the catnap and the early bedtime.) Instead, forgo the catnap and offer a bedtime as early as 6:00 pm. I know it can be tempting to offer a catnap when you get home from daycare, but this will push bedtime later. Because night sleep is more restorative than day sleep, an early bedtime is the best way to help an overtired baby or toddler. Additionally, at the end of each day parents receive a detailed email listing the events of the day, such as, when your child was given a bottle (if applicable), what they ate and drank, when diapers were changed and what it was, their nap schedule, and any other pertinent information.Can we still have a great little sleeper if our baby needs to be at daycare? # anchor Everybody has access to the information in real time. We utilize an extremely informative mobile app called Daily Connect to keep parents up to date with their child's day. No child will ever be forced to sleep, however good and regular sleep schedules are encouraged. The State of California requires that all children under the age of five have at least a two hour rest period every day. Younger infants can be given a third nap in the later afternoon if needed, and older infants no longer requiring two naps a day will just take a single nap at 12:30pm. Age appropriate activities are scheduled with the flexibility allowed to respond to the needs of each individual child and their various ages. Actual times and activities may vary depending on time of the year, weather, age and temperament of the children. This schedule is meant to give you an idea of your child’s day.
